NEW DIRECTOR AT TUCKER FREE LIBRARY ANNOUNCED
by Patti N. Osgood, Trustee
Tucker Free Library, Henniker

The Trustees of the Tucker Free Library, Henniker, N.H., announce the appointment of Lynn M. Piotrowicz as Library Director.

Piotrowicz comes to the Tucker Free Library from the Meadville Public Library in Meadville, PA, where she was head of the fiction department and reference librarian. Piotrowicz holds a Masters of Library Science from the University of Pittsburgh and a Masters of Arts from the University of New Haven in Connecticut.

"We welcome Lynn as the new Library Director. We were fortunate to have a number of very qualified applicants. Lynn's enthusiasm and love of libraries made her a clear choice," said Tucker Free Library Chairperson, Terrance Simkin.

Ms. Piotrowicz replaces outgoing Director Helga Winn. The Trustees of the Tucker Free Library appreciate Winn's direction of the Library and wish her well in her new endeavors.

"Libraries are an integral part of our communities," commented Piotrowicz. "As the director of the Tucker Free Library, I hope to continue building the collection and offering services that Henniker residents want and are proud to call their own. I am looking forward to meeting the members of the Henniker community and invite and encourage everyone to stop in and say hello."

The Tucker Free Library, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2004, continues to serve the Henniker community with a collection of 30,000+ volumes. Many periodicals, videotapes, DVDs, and audiocassettes are also available to patrons. To meet the technological needs of the community, the library is fully automated and offers Internet access. The library plans to make the online public catalog accessible from your home computer within the next few months.

A variety of children's programs, including a weekly preschool story time, after-school discussion groups, and children's summer reading programs are also offered at the Tucker Free Library to encourage young readers. For more information about the Tucker Free Library or programs offered, call the library at 428-3471.

The Trustees of the Tucker Free Library are Terrance Simkin, Wayne Colby, Janet Higginson, Patti Ogsood, and Christine Putnam Anderson.
