ARTS IN EDUCATION: THE CREATIVE JOURNEY

Come for all three days or attend as a day commuter. Early bird deadline: September 15, 2005.

It's to register for Arts in Education: The Creative Journey, the N.H. State Council on the Arts' annual conference, taking place September 30 to October 2, 2005 at the N.H. Institute of Art in Manchester.

New Hampshire Award Winning Children's Author and Illustrator, Tomie dePaola will give an Advocacy for the Arts address. Guest speakers include Eric Booth, actor, educator, and nationally known author of The Everyday Work of Art, a meditation on the meaning of art in our daily lives; David Darling, a cellist, recording artist and innovative educator and Dr. Lyonel Tracy, New Hampshire's new Commissioner of Education.

This exciting conference offers a variety of seminars and interdisciplinary workshops taught by artist-educators. Grants writing and fundraising ideas will be shared. Highlights will include "Meet the Artists: Celebrate each Student's Art Work," a gathering with exhibits and opportunities to meet State Council roster artists and learn about model arts education and integrated arts residency projects; an evening showcase of performing artists; and a reception at the Millyard Museum in Manchester. Help create an "Improvisational Circus of the Arts" with Artists-Educators.
