"Camp Wanna Read" is the theme for the 2005 N.H. Summer Reading Program. Look for information about ordering t-shirts, posters, bookmarks, reading charts and reading certificates. This year, we will also be selling backpack/bookbags that feature Camp Wanna Read artwork by illustrator Marty Kelley. Ordering information will be posted to the CHILIS listserv.
The CHILIS Spring Conference is scheduled for Thursday, March 17, 2005 in Milford. The all-day conference will include the Kids, Books and the Arts showcase. Look for registration forms on the CHILIS website sometime in February 2005.
Nominations for the 2005 Ladybug Picture Book Award will be accepted until January 26, 2005. Nominations should be sent to Diana Greenleaf at dgreenleaf@windhamsd.org. For information criteria, visit the webpage on the Center for the Book at the N.H. State Library at
www.state.nh.us/nhsl/bookcenter/programs/ladybug.html.
The N.H. Teen Book Award, sponsored by the N.H. Library Association, is accepting nominations until mid-January. Teens in grades 9-12 can nominate fiction or nonfiction books that appeal to teens, with publication dates from 2002-2005. Nominations should be given to public or school librarians. A committee will select 13 nominated titles in April, and teens will vote for their favorite book the following spring. For more information, please contact Ann Hoey at ahoey@library.state.nh.us. |
