MOST PLAYFUL TOWNS IN AMERICA
The city of Benicia, CA was recently chosen by Nick Jr. Family Magazine as one of the ten Most Playful Towns in America. "Extensive library programs" was one of the criteria for selection. "We know what a big difference it can make when a city can attract families, and the library is proud to be a part of that," said Monique le Conge, library director. Other selection criteria include schools performing in the top third of their states, lower than average crime rate, access to arts, outdoor activities, and student/teacher ratios. In addition to Benicia, the towns honored are Montclair, N.J.; Oro Valley, AZ; Moscoa, ID; Wayzata, MN; Germantown, TN; Keene, N.H.; Columbus, IN; Alpharetta, GA; and Shaker Heights, OH.
