FUNDING ACHIEVED FOR FIRST STOP: THE NEW HAMPSHIRE PRIMARY

The N.H. Historical Society and the N.H. Political Library today announced successful completion of fundraising for an upcoming exhibition that will explore New Hampshire's unique role in Presidential politics. First Stop: The New Hampshire Primary will be on view at the Society's Museum of New Hampshire History in Concord from May 3, 2003 through March 28, 2004. Major sponsors include Orr & Reno, P.A.; the Grappone Companies; the Concord Comfort Inn; Public Service of New Hampshire; the N.H. Political Library; the N.H. Humanities Council; and WMUR-TV. A related lecture series and educational programs are funded, in part, by the New Hampshire Humanities Council.

"This exhibition is a wonderful resource for understanding and encouraging participation in the political process," said Linda Burroughs, Director of External Relations at the New Hampshire Historical Society. "We are grateful for the strong support and community spirit of our sponsors."

"We are looking forward to the collaboration with the New Hampshire Historical Society in presenting first-in-the-nation Presidential primary history to the thousands of people who will view this exhibition in 2003 and 2004," said Michael Chaney, Political Library Executive Director.

The New Hampshire Political Library collects, organizes, and make available the only comprehensive collection of election campaign papers and memorabilia from a half century of New Hampshire Presidential primary history. Visit the Political Library online at http://politicallibrary.org.

The New Hampshire Historical Society is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing New Hampshire history through the Museum of New Hampshire History and the Tuck Library.
