NEW HAMPSHIRE STATE LIBRARY HELD A SECOND-DAY ISSUE EVENT IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS BICENTENNIAL
The New Hampshire State Library held a commemorative stamp second-day issue celebration as part of the Library of Congress Bicentennial on Wednesday, May 10, 2000 from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the State Library, Concord.
Children, adults, and families were invited to attend this event, during which the commemorative postage stamp was available. A collectible, custom cancellation of an open book was exclusively offered during the event. A free envelope design, or cachet, created by the State Library included the State Seal and a hand drawing of the N.H. State Library.
The Library of Congress Commemorative postage stamp was issued on the Library's Bicentennial date, April 24, 2000. Concord Postmaster, William Sula, and North Salem Postmaster, Robert Dion, partnered with the State Library to coordinating and celebrating the 200th birthday of America's Library. |
