DUBLIN/IMPAC LITERARY AWARD
This year the N.H. State Library joined a long list of libraries from around the globe as nominating libraries for the prestigious Dublin/IMPAC Literacy Award, now in its fifth year.
This international award is the largest of its kinds, and is open to books written in any language. Last June, the State Library nominated three titles for the 2000 award: The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver, The Hours by Michael Cunningham, and The Archivist by Martha Cooley. We are currently reviewing books for the 2001 award.
If you, your staff, or your patrons have any favorite titles of high literary merit, published in English or translated into English during 1999, please send submissions to Becky Albert, N.H. State Library, 20 Park Street, Concord, N.H. 03301-6314. Libraries interested in participating on the final selection committee are also welcome!
