STATE LIBRARIAN SEARCH
A subcommittee of the N.H. State Library Advisory Council began meeting in October to organize a nationwide search for New Hampshire's State Librarian. Committee members include Ann Geisel, Chair, representing small and medium-sized public libraries; Elizabeth Levy, Chair of the Urban Public Library Consortium; Jeffrey Kent, N.H. State Library Advisory Council member for school media centers; Todd Trevorrow, representing academic libraries; Lillian Edelmann, President of the N.H. Library Trustees Association; Donna Gilbreth, representing the N.H. State Library staff; and T. Holmes Moore, representing the citizens of the State.
It will be their responsibility to conduct a search for State Librarian, and to hold initial interviews. Together with the Advisory Council, they will conduct final interviews and make their recommendations to the Commissioner of Cultural Resources. Commissioner Van McLeod will suggest the final candidate for approval by Governor and Council.
Ads were sent to journals, joblines and listservs, as well as to library schools, state agencies, and other organizations beginning December 1, 1998. Interested parties were asked to write for an application package by February 1, 1999. The Committee began reviewing applications February 16, 1999. |
