BOMB THREAT
In the early evening of October 27th, a bomb was placed in the stacks of the Concord Public Library. The fuse was lit, but it did not detonate, the smoke from the device set off the fire alarm. When the Concord Fire Department responded to the alarm they discovered the bomb and notified the State Police who removed it. At about midnight during a search of the surrounding buildings, a second bomb was discovered on the front steps of the State Library; it was removed without incident. Since the bomb was discovered, the library has experienced no additional threats. The library staff has been working with the N.H. State Police and the FBI on the investigation. As of press time, the incident is still under investigation. The State Library staff has handled the situation extremely well. |
