GRANTS FOR TRAVELING EXHIBITS/NEW WORKS AVAILABLE

A newly published Traveling Exhibitions & New Works Guide is now available at the N.H. State Council on the Arts. The guide contains listings of six exhibits and four New Works productions by professional New Hampshire performing artists which are available to tour around the state.

Exhibits include: Arts in New Hampshire II: The Still Life and Landscape, curated by the N.H. Arts Association; Can Do, featuring multi-media work by artists and students with and without disabilities, curated by Very Special Arts N.H.; Expressions of Color from the Heart, paintings by residents at the Merrimack County Nursing Home, curated by June Latti; Finding Light in Dark Times: New Hampshire Paintings by Nathaniel Burwash, curated by N.H. State Library; The Mill and the Community, curated by the Belknap Mill Society; and Sisters-in-Sight, curated by the N.H. Women's Caucus for Art.

New Works include: What Lies Beyond: A Journey for Three Voices, created and performed by literary artists Diana Durham, Rebecca Rule, and Maren Tirabassi; Faith, an opera based on a story by New Hampshire science fiction writer James Patrick Kelly written by Michael Ching of the Memphis Opera Company, and performed by OPERAFEST! of N.H.; On the Road, a multi-media concert piece created by Andrew and Bonnie Periale of Perry Alley.

Community Arts Grants are available through the N.H. State Council on the Arts to support the presentation of the featured exhibits and New Works in New Hampshire communities. Creation of the traveling exhibitions and New Works is made possible by funding received from the Governor and State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.
