LIBRARIANS HONORED
Bonnie Gardner, director of the Weeks Public Library in Greenland has been named Citizen of the Year for 1998 by the Greenland Junior Women's Club.
Ms. Gardner began working part-time at the library in 1974 and in 1979 she went to work at the Dimond Library at the University of New Hampshire. She returned to the Weeks Public Library in 1988 to serve as the library's director.
This is not the first time that Ms. Gardner has been honored for her work at the library. Last year she was named Librarian of the Year by the Association of New Hampshire Library Friends, and the local grange named her Citizen of the Year for 1997.
Natasha Leonard, librarian at the Nichols Memorial Library in Kingston, was named Young Career Woman by the Kingston Business and Professional Women's organization.
She was also selected as first runner up in the statewide business and Professional Women's competition for Young Career Women which took place in Concord on March 21, 1998. |
