READING AND DISCUSSION PROGRAM
Book Bytes, and E-Mail Book Discussion Program for Teens premiered February 1st in New Hampshire cyberspace. Teens from public libraries around the state are discussing books in exciting new way - through e-mail! The February book selection - The Giver by Lois Lowry - is a past Great Stone Face Award winner and a favorite among libraries and teens alike. In March the teens will begin discussing Wolf Rider by Avi, another favorite. April's book is Woodsong by Gary Paulsen. The pilot project will conclude in May with The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman.
The project, developed with the assistance of the Young Adult Interest Group, was designed as a pilot project to test the concept. If successful, other e-mail book discussions will be offered through the N.H. State Library.
