IN REMEMBRANCE
The New Hampshire library community is saddened to learn of the recent deaths of the following residents who actively contributed to New Hampshire Libraries over the years.
Edward J. Comisky died on January 20 at a local health care facility in Bedford after a lengthy illness. Mr. Comisky was a faculty member at St. Anselm College for 39 years. He was also a member of the Friends of the Bedford Public Library and a past officer of the Bedford Historical Society.
Katrina Atwood Copeland of Contoocook died on January 13 at the Hospice House in Concord after a long illness. Mrs. Copeland was past president of the Hollis Women's Club and a volunteer at the Hopkinton Village Library.
Rhoda M. Cross of Merrimack died on January 9 at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home in Goffstown. Mrs. Cross was a member of the Merrimack Historical Society and worked for many years at the Merrimack Public Library.
Jane Duffey of New London died on January 8 at the Thorton Nursing Home, Northborough, MA. Mrs. Duffey was a volunteer at the Tracy Memorial Library in New London.
Rita M. Heath of Franklin died on January 7 at the Franklin regional Hospital. Mrs. Heath was a volunteer at the Franklin Public Library.
Donald Kimball died on December 6 at his home in Danville. Mr. Kimball served the town in several capacities for many years, including selectman, town auditor, supervisor of the checklist, and trustee of the Colby Memorial Library.
Irvine E. Whitcomb of Candia died after a long illness on December 25 at a Manchester hospital. Mr. Whitcomb was a member of the Candia Volunteer Fire Department and a trustees of the Smyth Public Library in Candia.
Virginia M. Woodbury a former resident of Salem died on December 30 the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood. Mrs. Woodbury was the children's librarian at the Kelley Library in Salem from 1966 until 1983. |
