IN REMEMBRANCE
The New Hampshire Library community is saddened to learn of the recent deaths of the following residents who actively contributed to New Hampshire libraries over the years.
Mabel Anderson died on December 3 at Concord Hospital. Mrs. Anderson taught school in Webster for many years and was a member of the Friends of the Webster Free Library.
Elizabeth Coleman, formerly of Center Tuftonboro, died on October 9 at the Mountain View Nursing Home in Ossipee. Mrs. Coleman was a past president of the Friends of the Tuftonboro Free Library and a past president of the Association of New Hampshire Library Friends.
Mary Herbert of North Hampton died at Exeter Hospital on October 12. Mrs. Herbert was a member of the North Hampton Board of Selectmen from 1991 to 1997. She was a trustee of the North Hampton Public Library from 1986 to 1989.
Margaret Shirley Lamprey of Moultonborough died on October 25 at the Lakes Region General Hospital in Laconia. Mrs. Lamprey was a member of the Moultonborough Friends of the Library.
Ellen J. Layzell of Manchester died on December 1 at a Bedford health care center. Mrs. Layzell was a member of the Friends of the Smyth Library of Candia.
Trevor A. Price of Keene died at his home on September 30. Mr. Price served as president of the Board of Trustees for the Keene Public Library and was named Trustee of the Year by the New Hampshire Library Trustee Association in 1981.
James E. Thayer of Farmington died on October 7 at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Mr. Thayer was a trustee of the Goodwin Library in Farmington.
Rosemary H. Turnbull of Francestown died at her home on October 15. Mrs. Turnbull was the library directory for 17 years at the Con-Val High School in Peterborough. She was responsible for computerizing the library and instituting a library intern program. |
