CONSTANCE T. RINDEN
The New Hampshire library community was deeply saddened to learn that Constance T. Rinden of Hopkinton died on September 12 at her home. A librarian with the State Library in Concord for 35 years, Mrs. Rinden retired in 1991.
Mrs. Rinden was a 1952 graduate of Randolph-Macon Women's College in Lynchburg, Virginia, and she received her MLS degree from Simmons College in Boston. Her first professional position was at the city library in Atlanta, Georgia. After spending 1955 in Bristol, England, working as a librarian through a swap arrangement, she began working as a reference librarian at the State Library.
In 1972, she became law librarian at the Law Division of the State Library, and held that position until her retirement. During her professional career, Mrs. Rinden worked in all areas of librarianship including reference; administration; legal research; teaching; indexing and abstracting; bookmobile supervision and collection development. In retirement she was busily engaged in indexing the Laws of the State of New Hampshire:
Mrs. Rinden will be missed and fondly remembered, both professionally and personally by her colleagues and friends. |
