Director: The Derry Public Library is seeking a dynamic, forward looking director to lead the library into the 21st century. The library serves a thriving rural/suburban community of 32,000 with a staff of 14 FTEs, a collection of 88,000 volumes, and a budget of $708,000. Centrally located, Derry offers easy access to the White Mountains, Lakes Region, seacoast, and downtown Boston. The library is governed by an elected Board of Trustees, and enjoys wide support from the town council, municipal departments, school system, and many civic organizations. The successful candidate must have a broad knowledge of library operations including personnel administration, budgeting, expenditure control, collection development, facility management, automated systems, digital information policy, and community leadership. Minimum Qualifications: MLS from an ALA accredited school. Minimum 5 years administrative experience in public library positions with at least 3 years in a director position, or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
