MARIANNE JEWELL

The New Hampshire library community is saddened to learn that Marianne Jewell of Hampton died earlier this year in Kansas City, Mo.

A native of Kansas City, Mrs. Jewell was well known in Hampton and throughout the state in many areas of endeavor. She was the author of Dublin From Saddlebags to Satellites and Our Methodist Heritage in Lom-poc, and was the editor of four cookbooks. She was also an extremely active member of the Hampton Methodist Church and was the chairman of the United Methodist Women.

Mrs. Jewell was president of the Friends of the Lane Memorial Library and president of the Association of New Hampshire Library Friends from 1984 to 1986. In addition to her many other memberships and offices, Mrs. Jewell was a chairman of New Hampshire's General Federation of Women's Clubs. She will be missed by all who knew her.
