FUNDS SOUGHT TO PURCHASE THE DICTIONARY OF ART
The New Hampshire State Library has announced that it is seeking donations to help purchase the newly published 34 volume Dictionary of Art. This is the only comprehensive source of information on all aspects of the visual arts of every civilization from prehistory to the 1990s.
It is the sort of reference work that needs to be available in our state, but at a cost of $8,000 few libraries would be able to afford it, according to State Librarian Kendall Wiggin. A person who makes a donation of $250 or more can have a volume inscribed with the name that he or she chooses.
Checks made payable to the New Hampshire State Library should be sent to the library at 20 Park Street, Concord, N.H. 03301-6314.
Questions may be addressed to Kendall F. Wiggin, State Librarian at 271-2397 or wiggin@lilac.nhsl.lib.nh.us. |
