During December, 800 kill-o-watt meters will be distributed to public libraries. Each public library will receive 2, 4 or 6 meters depending on the population it serves:
2 meters: for libraries that serve up to 3,000
4 meters: for libraries that serve 3,001-15,999
6 meters: for libraries that serve > 16,000
The meters are a donation to your library from PSNH and are yours to keep. Each meter will be contained in a box with instructions and other publicity information on energy efficient actions. PSNH has contracted with an ad agency to produce color posters to display in your libraries or your communities. Marketing materials contained in each box can be replenished through the NH State Library as needed. The name given to this NH initiative and campaign is "Cut the Carbon!"
A press release will be sent out statewide about the campaign very soon. Thank you for partnering with all the energy companies in the state to educate consumers on electricity use.
The boxes will be delivered to you through the NH State Library's van service. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to Janet Eklund at Janet.Eklund@dcr.nh.gov

I am sorry to report that due to budget cutbacks and the current economy the State Library will not be renewing the Ancestry Library Database for 2010. The current subscription will end December 31, 2009. We have renewed the subscription to HeritageQuest so that will still be available to libraries for both in house and remote use.
Because we are providing access to HeritageQuest any library that wishes to subscribe to Ancestry Library on their own will receive a 50% discount on the price from ProQuest. If your library is interested in subscribing to Ancestry Library Edition for your library contact Gary Katz at ProQuest 800-521-0600 extension 4075 or email gary.katz@proquest.com.
