Moose License Plate Conservation Grants 2008/2009


This Conservation Grant Program is a state of New Hampshire funding source available to non-profit institutions to implement conservation activities on and increase access to publicly owned documents that are significant to New Hampshire's cultural heritage. The deadline for the New Hampshire State Library 2008 grant offering is March 31, 2008. Application information available at: www.nh.gov/nhsl/services/librarians/moose/

Robert and Karin Finlay Challenge

Public libraries are invited to compete for a $25,000 award designed to recognize those who attract new patrons through an implementation of ideas and innovation. The award will be given to the top NH public libraries, museums, and historical societies that show the greatest increase in membership from the period between November 1, 2007 and October 31, 2008. The deadline for the application is March 1, 2008. Applications and information were sent via van/mail to all public libraries. A library automation vendor "demo" day will be held on Tuesday, April 1 at the Holiday Inn in Concord.   More information will be posted soon on the state library's website.

A Children's Book Review will be held at the Weeks Memorial Library in Lancaster from April 14 to April 18 during the library's operating hours.  Librarians can come and preview new titles in children's and young adult fiction and nonfiction.  All librarians who attend the Review will receive (via the van) some free books of their choosing after the Review.

The CHILIS Spring Conference will be held on Thursday, March 27 at Webster Hall at Southern NH University from 9 am to 3pm.  Registration information can be found on the CHILIS website at www.chilisnh.org.
