The New Hampshire Department of Cultural Resources is pleased to announce the launch of this year’s “Moose Plate” Grants application period. The grants are administered through three Divisions within the Department: The State Library, Division of Historical Resources, and the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts.
The grants are available to non-profit or public institutions for the preservation and conservation of publicly owned cultural resources. Grants are awarded for activities that will enhance access to resources and safeguard rare or endangered treasures.
Applications are due on March 30th, 2007 and the Grants will be awarded in June 2007. The state library has received proposals from two movie performance licensing companies: The Motion Picture Licensing Corporation and Movie Licensing USA.If you are interested in purchasing a license from either the The Motion Picture Licensing Corporation or from Movie Licensing USA, please contact myork@library.state.nh.us.at the State Library by February 15.

NHAIS-L archives may be viewed by subscribers using system-assigned passwords. You should have received a reminder message at the beginning of the month (subject: webster.state.nh.us mailing list memberships reminder) which includes passwords. If you don't have your NHAIS-L password, go to http://maillist.nh.gov/mailman/listinfo/nhais-l and, near the bottom of the page, enter your subscribed address next to the "Unsubscribe or edit options" button, then click the button. Near the bottom of the next page there's a "Remind" button that you can click to have the server send you a password reminder message.
With your password, go back to http://maillist.nh.gov/mailman/listinfo/nhais-l. Near the top of the page, under "About Nhais-l," you'll see a link to "Nhais-l Archives." Click and enter your subscribed address and password to see a list of months, going back to July 2002. Choose how you'd like to view messages from a particular month (sorted by thread, subject, author, or date) or download a compressed text file.
NHAIS Services has sent out a mailing to all libraries registered with NHAIS reminding them about the NHAIS Notes blog (http://nhais.blogspot.com) and providing step-by-step instructions on how to get NHAIS Notes sent to them via email as well as info on the other choices available to them for reading the blog.
