A standard budget for NHSL was submitted, but Gov. Benson has requested another budget by Nov. 1 with a 10% cut in ’06 and another 8% cut for ’07. These directives come with a goal to not adversely affect the library community. Hearings will be held in November.

A Children's Book Review is scheduled for Tuesday, November 2 through Monday, November 8 at the state library in Concord (8:00 am to 4:00 pm). The Review is a chance for youth librarians to preview new titles in picture books and juvenile and young adult fiction and nonfiction. A new Resource Guide has been posted to assits librarians and trustees with planning and writing policies for library meeting rooms. Go to the Library Development Services section of the NHSL website, and under "Resource Guides" select "Meeting Room Policies". This includes helpful materials and sample from NH and around the nation.

In September the State Library began a subscription to Library Literature Full Text through Wilson Web. This online product is available only for use within the State Library. Reference librarians can assist you with your professional literature research needs. Library journals that are available in full text on Library Literature have been added to our online periodical list. This list is available for libraries to search at our Article Express website at http://www.nh.gov/nhsl/aexpress/index.html. If you have any questions about using Library Literature and obtaining copies of articles please call the Reference Desk at 271-2144.
