Bibliostat Collect was launched at the end of April. After all testing and corrections were done, Informata unlocked the surveys and librarians received their usernames and passwords for the web-based data collection. We're looking forward to greater accuracy and timeliness in the statistics this year. For up-to-date information on how to submit your 2003 Annual Report, go to http://www.nh.gov/nhsl/ldss/nhplar2003.html.
The state library awarded Kids, Books and the Arts grants to 45 New Hampshire public libraries for a total of over $11,000. These grants help to fund performances done in conjunction with the statewide summer reading program. Communities will enjoy the talents of storytellers, musicians, mimes, magicians and puppeteers. Funding for the program comes from the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, the Bryne Foundation, the Cogswell Benevolent Trust, the Madelaine G. von Weber Trust, and the Saul O. Sidore Memorial Foundation.
