| The Library Development Services Section stimulates, encourages, and assists in the development and improvement of local library services through the Statewide Library Development System. Through research, statewide and regional planning, and training and individual consultations, the section promotes understanding and enthusiasm for the principles of good library service among trustees, librarians, state and municipal officials, and the general public. |

The consultants of Library Development Services offer assistance to New Hampshire librarians, trustees, and others on a variety of library-related topics. These areas include collection development, continuing education, long-range planning, personnel issues, policies, programming, and youth services.
