Allegra Goodman has a new novel titled Intuition. Readers who would be put off by the title needn't be. The subject she writes about, life in a postdoctoral research facility, is far from the occult. I enjoy psychological fiction, as in Ruth Rendall. Although lives hang in the balance in more ways than one, this kept my attention without the usual suspense, sex and murder one encounters everywhere nowadays. A refreshing slice of life.
