Granite State Reads began in 2003 as a partnership of the Verizon Foundation and the Park Street Foundation and offered financial support to New Hampshire organizations providing literacy assistance to New Hampshire residents through an annual grant program. The Center for the Book at the New Hampshire State Library has been a literacy partner of Granite State Reads and our Director has served on the grant committee since 2003.
In 2008, after a brief hiatus, the project has been reorganized and has been revived as a program of the Center for the Book at the New Hampshire State Library, with funds collected by Verizon through its Check Into Literacy program. The Park Street Foundation remains the fiscal agent for Granite State Reads.
We offer financial support to New Hampshire organizations providing literacy assistance to New Hampshire residents through our annual grant program. Any project that improves the literacy skills of New Hampshire children or adults is eligible for a Granite State Reads grant. |
