The NH Authors Database was compiled as a joint project of the NH Center for the Book and the Reference section of the New Hampshire State Library. It is based on the published work, New Hampshire Authors, Sixth Edition, Revised & Enlarged, compiled by Donna Gilbreth (1998). The database is updated on an ongoing basis.

You can search the database using an author's name, birthplace, town of residence, or genre.

The NH Authors Database contains information on over 1200 authors and illustrators who have called the Granite State home. Writers who were born in New Hampshire, are current residents of New Hampshire, or who have spent a significant portion of their writing careers in New Hampshire, and who have at least one published book catalogued in a New Hampshire library have been included.
