> Ongoing Library Book Sales

Many New Hampshire libraries hold book sales on specific days during the year. The libraries listed on this page have ongoing sales, some are instead of and others are in addition to a scheduled sale.

The Barrington Public Library has a running booksale during all library open hours (M,T,Th 10-6. Wed. 10-8, Friday 10-5, Sat 10-3) Lots of books for great prices...5 for $1.00 for paperback (or .25 each) and 4 for $1.00 hardcovers (or .25 cents each) Some new items and A/V are priced $1.00 and up.

Chesley Memorial Library has an ongoing book sale in their front hallway.

The Chester Public Library has an ongoing book sale. Hours are Monday & Wednesday 3-8; Tuesday 10-8; Thursday 10-6; and Saturday 10-12 (mid Sept thru May).

The Chichester Town Library has a permanent used book store in the basement of the library. The Down Under Book Store is open when the library is open. Our hours are Mon. Wed. 2:30-8:30, Tues. Thurs. 10:00-1:30, Fri. 1:30-4:30 and Sat. 9-12. Hardcover books are 50 cents, trade paperbacks and children's books are 25 cents. We also sell some higher priced vintage books.

The Friends of the Derry Public Libraries holds a monthly book sale at the Derry Public Library on the second Saturday of the month (October through June) from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm. Summer book sales are held in the evening. There is an annual Super Book Sale held at Derryfest in September. Check the library’s website for details: www.derrypl.org or call 432-6140.

The Dover Public Library (73 Locust Street, Dover, NH 03820) has a year-round book sale going on during all of its open hours.

The Friends of the East Kingston Public Library have a book shop located at 41 Depot Road (the site of the old town library) in East Kingston. They are open on Fridays from 10am-5pm and Saturdays from 10am-1pm.  They have some library discards, but the majority of the books are donated by people in the community.  You never know what you might find!  You can contact the Book Shop directly during open business hours at (603)642-5744. 

Friends of the Effingham Public Library, located at 30 Town House Road, just off Rte. 153 in Effingham, NH have a monthly book sale at the library the third Saturday of the month (except for July) from 9:30 am to noon.

Frost Free Library Friends Ongoing Book Sale, 28 Jaffrey Road, Marlborough, NH. Hours:Tuesday and Wednesday 2 – 8 pm; Thursday and Friday 10 – 5 pm; Saturday 10 – 1 pm. Lots of quality books at priced to sell prices! Call the library: 876.4479 for more information.

Gilman Library has an ongoing book sale. Older books are $.50 for hardcovers, $.25 or 6/$1.00 for paperbacks.
Newer books are priced as marked.

The Goodwin Library has an ongoing book sale year round.  Adult Hardcovers, Audio books & Videos are $1.00, Paperbacks are .50 or 3/$1.00 and magazines are FREE.  Children's books & videos are .50 or 3/$1.00.  The address is 422 Main Street, Farmington, NH 03835. Phone is (603) 755-2944.

When the Harvey-Mitchell Memorial Library is open they have an ongoing book sale in a storage room. Hours are Tues-Fri 10am-8pm; Sat 10am-2pm.

Holderness Library has an ongoing booksale which is always at the Holderness Library (866 US Rt 3, Holderness NH) 603-968-7066.

The Howe Library in Hanover has an ongoing book sale with lots of gently used books at great prices. Hardcovers: $3.00 ; Paperbacks: $1.00 ; DVDs, CDs, VHS: $.50

The Friends of the Library of Hudson, NH hold “Second Hand Prose,” a book sale open 11am-3pm on the second Sunday of the month and 5-8pm on the third Thursday of the month in the lower level of the former Hills Memorial Library Building at 18 Library Street, Hudson. Please enter via the ramp at the rear of the building. Hardcovers are $1 and paperbacks $.50. Great prices on DVDs, and CDs for the whole family. Proceeds benefit the Rodgers Memorial Library.

Jackson Public Library has an ongoing book sale on their front porch which goes on 24/7 with an honor system of payment.

Jaffrey Public Library has a small ongoing book sale throughout the year in the library lobby during regular library hours.

James A. Tuttle Library has a small ongoing book sale. Library hours: Mon. & Wed. 2-6pm; Tues. & Thurs. 2-8pm; Fri. 9am - noon; Sat. 10am-4pm.

Lee Public Library (9 Mast Road, Lee, NH) has an ongoing book sale which includes music, audio cds and dvds. Available materials are a combination of donations from the public and items weeded from the library collection. Books are .20 cents each or six for a dollar. CDs and DVDs are .25 cents.

Langdon Public Library (Newington, NH) has an ongoing book sale.

The North Conway Library has a small book sale year round in their lobby. They are located on 2719 Main Street in North Conway.

The Pease Public Library in continually has a small supply of books for sale at the library.

The Friends of the Peterborough Town Library Used Book Store is open from April through mid-November; Thurs-Fri 10-5, Saturday 10-1. It is located in the Kyes-Sage House at 14 Concord St., Peterborough, next door to the library.  Phone: 603-325-2295.

Philbrick-James Library in Deerfield has an ongoing book sale in the front hall of the library. They re-stock the shelves as books are sold. Call Evelyn DeCota at 463-7187 for directions.

Plaistow Public Library has an ongoing book sale: Hardcovers ($1.00), paperbacks ($.50), bargain books and children's books are also for sale.

Friends of the STEPHENSON MEMORIAL LIBRARY OF GREENFIELD, NH offer an ongoing booksale Wednesday evenings 7-8 and during the school year on Saturdays from 10-1 A small selection of titles are available at the entry during library hours. (M, 12-8 W, 10:30 -8 and Fri 10:30 - 5)

Wadleigh Memorial Library in Milford has an ongoing sale in the basement level of the library: Hardcovers are $1.00 each; Paperbacks are $.50 each or 3 for $1.00; Audio/Video materials are $1.00 each.

Webster Free Public Library has an ongoing book sale of approximately 8 shelves of books and a few A/V materials.  Paperbacks are $0.25; everything else is $0.50.  The booksale is available during the library's open hours:  Sundays Noon-4 PM; Mondays 1-8 PM; Wednesdays 9 AM-8 PM. Call 603-648-2706 for directions.

Westmoreland Public Library has an ongoing booksale table at the Westmorland Town Hall, which is open Tuesdays through Fridays 9 AM to 3 PM.
