After application and payment of fee, the board shall issue a temporary license or certificate to an individual who is either licensed or certified in another jurisdiction if the application complies with the rules adopted by the board (RSA 310-B:12-a). This provision is intended to permit appraisers certified or licensed in another state, but not certified or licensed in New Hampshire, to engage in limited temporary appraisal practice in this state when the properties to be appraised are part of federally-related transactions.

Each temporary practice permit shall be valid for a single assignment. Each temporary practice permit shall be valid for an initial duration of 6 months and is renewable one time upon notice to the board. No more than three (3) temporary practice permits shall be issued to the same appraiser within a single calendar year.

The specific requirements for a temporary practice permit are listed in our rules (Rab 307). The application can be found on our Downloads page.
