Applicants meeting the prerequisite educational and experience requirements of Rab 302 shall be notified in writing by the board of their status to sit for the certification or licensing examinations.

The examinations are offered at testing locations around New England, but not in New Hampshire. By the end of 2007, we expect that our testing company will have opened a testing center in Concord.

There is a fee of $150 that is paid directly to the testing company. This is expected to increase to $190 on January 1, 2008.

Details about the test, fees and testing locations are available at www.promissor.com

A passing score on the uniform state certification or licensing examination shall be achieved in order to qualify for any license, or certificate.

A new applicant not currently licensed or certified in another jurisdiction, shall have up to 24 months, after approval by the board, to take and pass an AQB approved qualifying examination for licensure or certification. Successful completion of the examination shall be valid for a period of 24 months.

After January 1, 2008, each real property appraiser licensing or certification examination (licensed residential, certified residential and certified general) will be comprised of 165 examination items.

  • Examinees taking either the licensed or certified residential examination will be allocated up to six hours (6) to sit for the examination. Examinees taking the certified general examination will be allocated up to eight hours (8) to sit for the examination.
  • The examinations will consist of two equal parts requiring the same amount of time to complete. Examinees will be allowed to take a break of up to one hour after the completion of the first part. The time for the break will not be considered as part of the testing time.

As it is now proposed, the national exam will emphasize the following topics:
