NH Employment Security has free services, resources, and tools to help you with the entire job search process. The NH WORKS Resource Centers located within each of our 13 local offices provide services, information, resources and tools for job seekers. The NH WORKS System is a partnership between a number of government agencies and community organizations to provide services, resources and information to job seekers and employers.

The NH WORKS Resource Centers provide these services and information in a one-stop setting. If you are a veteran, please ask for a Veteran's Representative and see informational links below. NHES provides preference in the referral of veterans to job orders.

High schools students are encouraged to use the Youth Employment Service program.

Information About Unemployment Compensation

If you are out of work, or if your hours have been reduced, it is your right to open a claim and file for Unemployment Compensation Benefits.

If you live in another state, and your last employment was in New Hampshire, and reside more than 25 miles from a NH Employment Security office, call 1-800-266-2252 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, and wait for a Customer Service Representative to assist you.

If you live in another state, but within 25 miles of a NH Employment Security office and you file a New Hampshire claim, you must file your claim for benefits in person, in a New Hampshire Employment Security office or over the Internet.

If you live in New Hampshire, but worked in another state (for instance, Massachusetts), please report to the NHES office nearest you. We will set up an Interstate courtesy claim for you.
