MANICURIST

Description

Clean, shape and polish customers’ fingernails and toenails, remove previously applied nail polish, using liquid remover and swabs. Shape and smooth ends of nails, using scissors and files. Clean customers’ nails. Polish nails, using powdered polish and buffer, or apply clear or colored liquid polish onto nails with brush.

Licensure Requirements

  • Must be of good professional character
  • Complete four years of high school or its equivalent
  • Complete 300 hours of professional training in manicuring in a school approved by the Board and passed an examination conducted by the Board; or complete an apprenticeship in a salon, and have received, in the opinion of the Board, the equivalent of the required course

Licenses expire on the last day of the licensee's birth month in the odd year next succeeding its date of issuance
