INSURANCE ADJUSTER

Description

Study insurance claims to see whether clients' policies cover them for particular losses and determine the amount of loss suffered. Talk with claimants to try to settle claims and may approve payments to them. Use reports, physical evidence, and witnesses' reports to investigate claims. Some workers travel to gather information about claims, while others work mostly at their desks. Many insurance adjusters specialize in a certain type of claim, such as auto, home, life, or property damage or loss.
