Description
Electricians install, repair, alter, and maintain electrical conductors, fittings, devices, and fixtures for heating, lighting, or power purposes. They must comply with the current edition of the National Electric Code. Journeyman Electricians are employed by and perform the above duties under the direction of a Master Electrician and each may directly supervise one Apprentice Electrician.

Licensure Requirements
- Four years (8,000 hours) of practical experience as an apprentice to a licensed electrician
- Four years of schooling (144 hours per year) in electricity
Examination
- Written examination required
Continuing Education
- A 15-hour course on each new edition of the National Electric Code (proof required with renewal once every three years)
