ELECTRICIAN, APPRENTICE

Description

Electricians install, repair, alter, and maintain electrical conductors, fittings, devices, and fixtures for heating, lighting, or power purposes. They must comply with the current edition of the National Electric Code. Apprentice electricians learn to perform the above duties under direct supervision of a Master or Journeyman Electrician.

Identification Card Requirements

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent or be enrolled in a board approved "youth apprenticeship program for high school students"

Examination

  • Not required

Continuing Education

  • A 30-hour course, based on areas of deficiency in the exam, shall be required yearly for apprentices, after completion of the 576 hours of schooling, starting with their fifth renewal

Fees

  • $15.00 for an identification card, which is valid for 12 months and can be renewed with a $15.00 fee upon receipt of evidence of satisfactory completion of 144 hours of related classroom instruction, each year for four years (576 hours total)

Reciprocity:   Not permitted

Residence/Citizenship:  Neither New Hampshire residency nor US citizenship is required
