Description
Examine patients to determine the nature and extent of disorders by using physical examinations, x-rays, and standard or special laboratory procedures or tests. Prescribe a treatment plan which usually includes manipulations or adjustments of the spinal column. May also prescribe additional treatments such as heat, light, water or nutritional therapy. Chiropractors do not perform surgery or prescribe drugs.

Licensure Requirements
- Graduate from a degree-granting accredited chiropractic college recognized by an established chiropractic accrediting agency approved by the US Department of Education
- Successfully complete Parts I through IV of the National Boards

- Twenty hours of approved continuing education required for biennial renewal
