Incorporated: 1771
Origin: This township was first granted by the Masonian Proprietors in 1749 as Monadnock Number 3, or North Monadnock, one of a group of eight towns in the region designated by number. Settlements were made in the 1760s by several from Ireland, who named the township after the Irish capital. In 1771, petition was made for incorporation under the name Dublin, securing the name. Dublin is home to Yankee Publishing, Inc., publishers of well-known magazines such as Yankee and the Old Farmer's Almanac, in publication since 1792.

Population Trends: Population change for Dublin totaled 807 over 50 years, from 675 in 1950 to 1,482 in 2000. The largest decennial percent change was 56 percent between 1970 and 1980, accounting for over half of the 50-year numeric population change. The 2007 Census estimate for Dublin was 1,577 residents, which ranked 157th among New Hampshire's incorporated cities and towns.

Population Density, 2007: 55.2 persons per square mile of land area. Dublin contains 27.9 square miles of land area and 1.1 square miles of inland water area.
