Minimum Security Inmate Missing from Manchester Halfway House
(Manchester, N.H.) The New Hampshire Department of Corrections announces that a minimum security inmate is missing from the Calumet Transitional Housing Unit in Manchester. At approximately 9:30 am on Thursday, April 3, 2014, Victor Soto, Jr., 37, of no permanent residence, was discovered missing from his room. A search of the facility was conducted and he was not found. He did not have permission to leave the facility and was placed on walkaway status.
Soto is described as a Hispanic male, 5’9”, 275 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. He was serving a 1 ½ - 5 year sentence for burglary out of Hillsborough County Superior Court. He was admitted to the New Hampshire State Prison on December 13, 2011 and had a parole eligibility date of February 12, 2013. His maximum release date is August 15, 2016.
The New Hampshire Department of Corrections Investigations Bureau and the New Hampshire State Police are investigating. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact local law enforcement officials or the New Hampshire State Prison at 603-271-1801
