Inmates Celebrate Veterans Day in Concord Prison
(Concord, NH) About forty inmates who are also military veterans participated in the annual Veteran's Day ceremony at the New Hampshire State Prison in Concord on Thursday, November 8, 2012. The event was sponsored by Chapter 161, Vietnam Veterans of America and all the Veterans of Concord facility. The event inluced the reading of names of Noew Hampshire veterans classified as missing in action in Korea and Southeast Asia. One inmate offered a readings entitled "A Soldier's Walk." The event included a Patriotic piano arrangement performed by an inmate as well as the presentation and retiring of the colors. There are over 250 inmates in DOC facilities that served in the military prior to their incarceration.
