Inmate’s Untimely Death Under Investigation
(Concord, NH) The New Hampshire Department of Corrections and New Hampshire State Police Major Crimes Unit are investigating the untimely death of an inmate at the New Hampshire State Prison in Concord. On Tuesday, October 4, 2011, at approximately 8:25 am, inmate Jason Michael MacDonald, 35, of Plymouth, New Hampshire, was found unresponsive in his bunk in the prison’s dormitory area during the morning population count. Correctional staff attempted to revive the inmate but were unsuccessful. He was transported to Concord Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The circumstances and cause of death are under investigation.
Inmate MacDonald was sentenced by Belknap County Superior Court to 1 to 2 years in prison for burglary. He was admitted to the New Hampshire State Prison on September 1, 2011. His original parole eligibility date was August 30, 2012. His original maximum release date was August 30, 2013.
