News Advisory: Inmate Indictment Announcement
(Concord, NH) The Merrimack County Superior Court Grand Jury in November, 2010 returned an indictment on Zachary Israel Parent, 23, an inmate at the Northern NH Correctional Facility in Berlin. He was charged with delivery of articles to prisoners (RSA 622:24 and 622:25). This followed a Department of Corrections investigation that began on May 2, 2009 after Wendy Parent, 45, of Belmont, attempted to introduce contraband to the New Hampshire State Prison in Concord by hiding it in the clothing of an infant whom she had brought to the prison to visit. In September, 2010, the Merrimack County Superior Court Grand Jury indicted Mrs. Parent for delivery of articles to prisoners in violation of RSA's 622:24 and 622:25. This is a class B felony punishable by 3 1/2 - 7 years in prison.
