New Chief Picked for Merrimack County Probation/Parole Office
(Concord, N.H.) New Hampshire Department of Corrections, Division of Field Services Director Michael McAlister announced that veteran Corrections employee Thomas D. Casey was promoted to Chief of the Concord District Office. The promotion was effective November 5, 2010.
Chief Casey began his career as a Corrections Officer at the New Hampshire State Prison in 1993. In 2001 he became a Probation/Parole Officer.
Chief Casey will manage an office with ten employees that supervise nearly 900 offenders on probation and parole and collects court-ordered financial obligations from over 450 individuals.
Earlier this year the Concord District Office was identified to play an integral role in the management of a $400,000 federal grant under the Second Chance Act Adult Offender Reentry Initiative. The grant supports the coordination of case management, provides risk assessments and clinical assessments, and individualized programming based on identified needs.
