NH Dept. of Corrections Employees and Inmates Raise Funds for Breast Cancer
(Concord, N.H.) The New Hampshire Department of Corrections announces that inmates and employees raised a total of over $3,000.00 for breast cancer research following last weekend’s Making Strides for Breast Cancer walkathon.
Approximately eighty inmates at the New Hampshire State Prison for Women in Goffstown filled out withdrawal slips and collected $1,454.00 for the walk that occurred on prison grounds on October 19, 2008. This was the second year inmates participated in the event. About twenty corrections officers, medical, human resources and other department staff raised $1,850.00 for the walk that occurred in Concord. More than $500,000 was raised in total at the Concord walk.
