Washouts Report at Lakes Region Facility

(Laconia, N.H.) The New Hampshire Department of Corrections reports that the Lakes Region Facility suffered water damage on its property during the intensive rain on August 7, 2008. A gravel parking lot that serves the Laconia District Probation/Parole Office and culverts aligning Right Way Path, which circles the prison, were washed out. There are no reports of injuries or damage to the buildings or vehicles. The Lakes Region Facility and the Probation/Parole Office are operating business as usual.

The prison’s maintenance team will use an inmate work crew to repair the damaged parking lot and culverts at no cost to New Hampshire taxpayers. This will occur as soon as it is feasible.
