(Concord, NH) The New Hampshire Department of Corrections will hold its seventh annual blood drive at the Transitional Work Unit on the grounds of the New Hampshire State Prison in Concord on Thursday June 19, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The American Red Cross will be conducting the blood drive, which is open to Corrections employees as well as the general public. The blood drive will occur in the facility’s 281 North State Street location. Participants must bring legitimate photo identification. Members of the public can park behind the building in the upper parking lot and enter through the back door.
The annual event began as a way to honor those who were killed in the terrorist attack of September 11, 2001. Since 2002, 321 pints of blood have been collected.
