Governor Lynch Visits With NH Dept. of Corrections Employees
(Concord, NH) Governor John H. Lynch met with several dozen employees of the New Hampshire State Prison in Concord last week in recognition of National Correctional Officers Week. The Governor thanked the employees for their dedication and hard work. He read a proclamation declaring May 4-10, 2008 National Correctional Officers Week. Also attending the event were Corrections Commissioner William L. Wrenn, Assistant Commissioner William G. McGonagle, and some members of the New Hampshire House of Representatives.
The Department will hold its own employee recognition ceremonies during the week of June 9-13, 2008. Individual awards ceremonies will occur at the NH State Prison in Concord, NH State Prison for Women in Goffstown, Lakes Region Facility in Laconia, and the Northern New Hampshire Correctional Facility in Berlin. Employees working in the New Hampshire Division of Field Services Probation/Parole District Offices as well as the three transitional housing units will be recognized as well.
Approximately one-thousand employees are responsible for the supervision of more than ten-thousand offenders in prison and on probation, parole, and other forms of community supervision.
