New Assistant Commissioner Nominated
(Concord, NH) New Hampshire Department of Corrections Commissioner William L. Wrenn asked Governor John H. Lynch to nominate a former Department employee as Assistant Commissioner. At the January 16, 2008 Executive Council meeting, Governor Lynch nominated William G. McGonagle, 57, as Assistant Commissioner. His nomination still needs the approval of the Executive Council and will be considered at the January 30, 2008 meeting.
McGonagle is the Manager of Quality Improvement for the Division of Juvenile Justice Services. He was Director of Education at the New Hampshire State Prison in Concord from March 1986 until February 2003.
Commissioner Wrenn said, “Bill has a strong history as a manager and a firm understanding of Correctional management and law enforcement. This experience will be valuable as the Department implements its long term and short-term goals and priorities.”
