Inmates Donate to Operation Santa Claus
(Goffstown, NH) Inmates at the New Hampshire State Prison for Women donated more than one hundred handmade gifts to the New Hampshire State Employees Association (SEA) “Operation Santa Claus” effort. The gifts will be distributed to needy children around the state as part of the annual program.
The gifts included hand sewn dolls, clothing, quilts, tote bags, beaded crafts and toys. The gifts were given to SEA representatives on November 28 during an informal ceremony.
More than a dozen women worked on the gifts over the last six months. The supplies used for the project were from previously donated sources and in some instances funded by the prison’s recreation budget and not by taxpayer dollars.
