Minimum Security Inmate Walks Away
(Concord, NH) The New Hampshire Department of Corrections reports that a minimum security inmate was reported missing from the North End Transitional Housing Unit in Concord. Roger J. Surette, 30, of Malden, Massachusetts, failed to return to his unit after work on Sunday, November 25, 2007. He was placed on escape status at 7:50 pm.
Inmate Surette is described as a white male, 5 feet 9 inches tall, and 180 pounds. He has short brown hair and hazel eyes. On his lower left leg is a tattoo that reads Loyalty. On his lower right leg there is a tattoo that reads Respect.
Inmate Surette was incarcerated on a technical parole violation on April 13, 2007 with a maximum release date of December 22, 2007. He was originally sentenced in Hillsborough County Superior Court in Manchester for Possession of Heroin and Burglary.
The Department has implemented steps aimed at apprehension. The investigation is being conducted by the New Hampshire State Police. If members of the public have information on the inmate’s whereabouts, please report that to state or local law enforcement agencies.
