New Security Chief Named for Laconia Facility

(Laconia, NH) Warden Jane Coplan of the Lakes Region Facility and Pre-Release Center for Men in Laconia announced the appointment of a new Chief of Security. Captain Jon Fouts was promoted to Major as part of his new responsibilities to oversee the facility’s security operations.

Major Fouts is a seventeen year veteran Corrections Officer with the New Hampshire Department of Corrections.

“Major Fouts brings with him a wealth of Corrections experience having served in a variety of capacities,” Warden Coplan said. “I am proud to have him on my team.”

Prior to his Laconia assignment, Major Fouts was Captain of Operations at the New Hampshire State Prison in Concord. He has also held security positions at the Northern NH Correctional Facility in Berlin and was a past instructor for the Department’s Emergency Preparedness Training.
